This is a record of installing ImmortalWrt inside a virtual machine on fnOS—not flashing a physical router. The two differ in image selection, boot method, and network card configuration, so you can't just apply the VM process directly to your home router.
This post walks through reinstalling a VPS with [bin456789/reinstall](https://github.com/bin456789/reinstall). The script can set up the installation environment for the next boot, but reinstalling is not a risk-free one-click operation. The partitions and data on the target system disk will be rebuilt, and SSH may be temporarily unavailable after the reinstall.
When GitHub occasionally won't load, I first figure out whether it's a DNS resolution problem or whether the network simply can't reach it. Editing hosts might help with the former, but it's not a proxy—it won't bypass a firewall or fix a TLS connection.
Create an iStoreOS VM in PVE, import the system disk with native commands, verify UEFI and the EFI disk, and configure both a bypass router and a dual-NIC main router.
